The Italian Antitrust Authority has recently concluded an investigation procedure sanctioning Lyoness Italia S.r.l. with a 3.200.000 euros fine because the promotional system used by said company has been found in breach of the rules provided by the Consumer Code. In particular, the Authority considered that the purchase formula based on cashback designed by Lyoness Italia S.r.l. and offered to the consumers shall be considered an illegal multilevel marketing system (pyramid-like structure).
